Dr. Peg LaRose

I am delighted to begin my eighth year as Principal of Sage Canyon Elementary School. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to nurture and support a dynamic learning community that works collaboratively to strengthen the academic and social achievement of students and the relationship between home, school, and community.

Prior to our relocation to San Diego in June 2004, I spent 20 years as a resident of Phoenix, Arizona. While in Phoenix, I served students and families in the Kyrene School District as a teacher, specialist in curriculum, instruction and staff development, middle school assistant principal, middle school principal, and elementary principal.

I obtained both my Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and my Masters degree in Educational Administration from Arizona State University. I did my undergraduate work in my home state of Ohio at the University of Cincinnati where I began my career as an educator.

My husband Arthur and I are proud owners of a historically significant Spanish Revival home and enjoy collecting Early California period art and antiques and digging in our cottage style garden. When home and work needs are met, we love to continue our 25 year quest for that perfect little foreign remote beach locale that compels us to ponder, “What if…?”.
